We are a family farm.
Dahlia Acres Farm was founded in Allendale, Michigan in 2015 and operated there until 2018. The farm was relocated from Allendale to Hudsonville in 2019. Our grandparents and parents farmed produce and fresh flowers in West Michigan and provided their children with the knowledge, skills and work ethic to continue the tradition. We are nature lovers and farming is in our blood. We grow 95% of the flowers we sell and never import flowers from different states or countries. We believe "fresh is best" and provide our customers with flowers that will last because they come directly from our farm to the consumer.
Our story
Marcy and Melissa (The Stille Sisters) grew up on a family farm in Grand Haven, Michigan. In 2015, Marcy fell in love with dahlias and purchased a large lot of Dahlia tubers and Dahlia Acres was born. The lot included a diverse collection of colors and shapes from the intricate geometric beauty of the "Jessie Pom Pom", to the gorgeous feathery look of the "Hot Pink Hottie". Marcy has always grown vegetables and flowers and owns and manages the farm. Melissa has an art degree from Grand Valley State University and is an art teacher in Norton Shores, Michigan. Melissa provides marketing and event planning for the farm. Together they host many "Design Workshops" that allow social and professional groups to come to Dahlia Acres for a fun flower arranging event. These gatherings can be focused on creating flower arrangements or seasonal decor from July through December. Folks who attend these events go home with a beautiful display of natural components that they made themselves. They sell flowers to local florists and to the public, from their wagon stand in Hudsonville and at the Grand Haven Farmers Market from May-October.
They offer U-Pick dahlias from Mid-August through the first frost each season. U-Pick dahlias are $2.00 per stem.
